The director of library, Russ Abell said
“Pratt library is more than a place to read books; Pratt library is where to relax, where to meet other students, and where to enjoy its history.”
He asked if we could bring a lively culture to the library.
I was inspired by the fact that visitors can do more than just read books at the Pratt Library.
Imagine the infinite possibilities at the Pratt Library before you enter.
This experience was a metaphor for William Blake's quote,
'If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.'
After cleansing the door, visitors are prompted to take a selfie to upload their picture to the exhibit their animated bubble in the virtual library space.
They can also view previous engagements from other visitors.
How I envisioned the experience…
We got voluntary engagement from the visitors. #PrattInstituteLibrary
Without providing personal instruction, people were curious about the sign for “Doors of Perception” and downloaded the app to try out the experience.
People will put in extra effort for a good experience!
